Bayer Team Visits Wesley Mission

Bayer employees recently visited Wesley Mission’s David Morgan Centre (DMC), gaining firsthand insight into the organisation’s approach to creating meaningful employment opportunities for people living with a disability.

Using a Bayer GIVE day – one paid day to volunteer for a charity - sixteen team members participated in the onsite experience, which forms part of Bayer’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and social inclusion.

For more than 15 years, Bayer has worked with Wesley Mission, an organisation that delivers a broad range of services for people experiencing vulnerability, including aged‑care programs, homelessness support and employment pathways. The DMC plays a central role in this work, providing a supportive and purpose‑driven environment where individuals can develop skills, build confidence and contribute through meaningful work.

The Wesley Mission team at DMC pack our iconic Bayer brands such as Elevit, Claratyne and Berocca – to name a few.

During the visit, Bayer colleagues worked alongside DMC employees, observed daily operations and heard personal stories about the impact of inclusive employment. The experience offered valuable perspective on the role that connection, respect and opportunity play in fostering strong and resilient communities.

Ben Jarvis, ANZ Supply chain works closely with the Wesley team and attended the volunteer day, reflected on the experience, saying:

“Spending time at the David Morgan Centre was incredibly grounding. Seeing the pride and joy the team brings to their work reminded us why partnerships like this matter.”

Bayer extends its appreciation to Wesley Mission and the DMC team for their hospitality and for demonstrating the positive outcomes that inclusive workplaces can deliver. The partnership will continue in February, when Bayer will welcome colleagues from its Indonesian manufacturing site to participate in a similar engagement.  If you are in the Sydney region and would like to help on the morning of the 16th February – reach out to Ben Jarvis in the Pymble office for details.
