The Arts
The Arts are an important facet of Australian and New Zealand culture and Bayer has a long history of supporting the arts in both countries from opera to dance and from cultural exchanges to classical music competitions.

Bayer has been a major supporter of the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra concert competition since 1994. Bayer Australia was delighted to be acknowledged by the Orchestras of Australia Network in 2004 with an Enlightened Support Commendation Award for its contribution to secondary school aged musicians through its 10-year support for the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra.

Our partnership with the Sydney Dance Company, Australia’s premier contemporary dance performers, helps the company to tour regularly throughout Australia, New Zealand and all over the world, bringing a high standard of Australian performance to the wider community. Bayer Corporate Communications Manager, Kirsten Impey, says, “Like Bayer, the Sydney Dance Company is renowned globally for being innovative, challenging the accepted and pushing boundaries in its work. Our partnership with the Sydney Dance Company not only reinforces our values but also provides a way for Bayer to support the arts and ensure that Australia’s cultural scene flourishes.”

In 2004 Bayer was a sponsor of the VisAsia Business Council. The Australian Institute of Asian Culture and Visual Arts (VisAsia) was established at the Art Gallery of New South Wales to promote awareness and understanding of Asian culture in Australia.
In the past, we have partnered with Opera Australia, aiding not only its major performances in capital cities, but ensuring school children experienced fine Australian art through support of the Opera Australia Schools Company. The Schools Company performs in isolated regions around Australia.
