Sustainability
To operate sustainably is our overriding goal. To accomplish this, we aim to achieve commercial success in a way that is compatible with our social and environmental responsibilities.

Our corporate social responsibility program involves product donations, financial support, grants, employee volunteering and strategic partnerships. We evaluate the impact of our commitment by participation in the London Benchmarking Group, a membership group of companies dedicated to corporate citizenship in Australia.
Bayer employees actively participate in Bayer’s community investment program, Give. With Bayer’s aid, employees support a variety of charities with volunteering, fundraising, payroll giving and community grants. Our key charity partners are Mission Australia who assist thousands of disadvantaged Australians, and Aussie Helpers (see case study).
At a global level Bayer invests heavily in climate protection and places it high on the corporate agenda. This commitment is reflected strongly in Australia and New Zealand through our B-Green program. B-Green encourages employees to think, act and live green with targets to reduce our environmental footprint. Bayer educates and engages with employees to actively contribute towards our environmental objectives. Bayer is also a major sponsor of the CSIRO’s CarbonKids program: providing schools with resources to learn about climate science and reduce the community’s carbon footprint.
Additionally, we consider health, science, education and culture as important areas for our support. Of course we also respond in times of disaster and crisis.
